In this hands-on class, students will learn the engineering design process, problem solving methodologies, and teamwork skills while building and programming robots. Students will be given an introduction to robotic design fundamentals and computer aided design while learning key STEM principles through a process that captures the excitement and engagement of robotics challenges and competitions. Topic covered include drivetrain design, lifting mechanisms, object manipulation, speed vs. torque, DC motors, modeling, systems integration, testing and the iterative process, and basic programming.
